About the method

A few drops of blood, collected at home.

The kit uses a Tasso device that draws capillary blood from your upper arm. The dried-bloodspot sample feeds the methylation analysis at TruDiagnostic's Kentucky laboratory.

A 2024 preprint co-authored by researchers at Harvard Medical School and TruDiagnostic reported that methylation-based proxies for clinical lab biomarkers identified deviations from reference ranges with about 90% accuracy. In 62% of the biomarkers studied, the proxies showed stronger statistical associations with disease outcomes than the observed lab values (Carreras-Gallo et al., medRxiv, 2024).

The paper is a preprint and has not yet been peer-reviewed. The authors describe these proxies as complementary to traditional biomarkers, not a replacement.

What happens after the report is up to you. Most clients retest in 6 to 12 months (a second Kit, ordered when ready) to measure how the levers they pulled are moving their age. Some book Optimization sessions where the report points to a specific intervention — for example, HRV biofeedback when cortisol pattern is dysregulated, or transcranial photobiomodulation when sleep and cognitive ages move together. Some take the report and run with it on their own.
