Measurement-driven intervention

Neurofeedback, biofeedback, photobiomodulation.

Per session, 150 CHF an hour. In the Neuchâtel cabinet or anywhere in Switzerland by appointment.

How each one works

Neurofeedback

Sensors on your scalp pick up your brain's electrical activity. We translate it into sound that you hear through headphones, and the rhythm tied to your reported concern shifts. Sessions use a 19-channel referential montage on a BrainMaster Discovery 24 system. ISF (Infra-Slow Fluctuation) neurofeedback is the protocol for chronic pain and complex stress. Traditional NF protocols (theta-beta, SMR, alpha asymmetry) cover ADHD-pattern attention, depression-pattern asymmetry, and sleep.

A 2023 study of 92 employees combining neurofeedback with mindfulness over 4 weeks reported recovery from work-related stress, sustained at one-month follow-up (Min et al., 2023).

Biofeedback

Sensors show your body's signals (heart rate, breathing, sweat response, muscle tension) in real time. You practice shifting them during sessions, and the heart rhythm steadies. HRV (heart-rate variability) biofeedback uses slow breathing at the resonance frequency that produces the largest heart-rate swing.

A 2017 meta-analysis of 24 studies in over 480 participants found that HRV biofeedback consistently reduced stress and anxiety (Goessl et al., 2017).

Photobiomodulation

Red and near-infrared light delivered to the head or to the body. The light reaches the cells' energy-making parts (mitochondria), supporting energy production and easing the inflammation that builds up under chronic stress. Two devices: the Vielight Neuro Pro 2 (810 nm transcranial) is portable for sessions anywhere; the RedDot RDPro6000-FS (660 and 850 nm full-body) is at the Neuchâtel cabinet.

A 2019 study of adults with generalised anxiety reported a clear reduction in anxiety after 8 weeks of transcranial near-infrared sessions (Maiello et al., 2019).

How sessions work

Per session, billed after.

Sessions are 60 minutes and cost 150 CHF. They are often partially or fully covered by Swiss supplementary insurances; details on request to support@deepcare.ch. The Neuchâtel cabinet address is shared after booking. For sessions outside Neuchâtel, transcranial PBM and HRV biofeedback travel; the full-body PBM bed stays at the cabinet.

Why no pre-paid packages

You decide week by week.

Most measurement-driven interventions take between 8 and 20 sessions to do their work, and the actual number depends on what the qEEG shows at session 1 and how your body responds at sessions 3 and 6. Pre-paying a package commits you to an estimate. We invoice after each session, so you decide week by week whether to continue.

What a typical course looks like

Starts with measurement.

Most courses begin with a 90-minute qEEG and intake (free for serious prospects). After that, weekly or twice-weekly sessions for 8 to 12 weeks. Some indications (chronic pain, post-concussion, generalised anxiety) want a longer course. Some (acute sleep, performance preparation) want fewer. We don't promise outcomes the literature doesn't promise. The strongest evidence in this practice's hands is HRV biofeedback for stress and anxiety, transcranial PBM for sleep and cognitive load, and ISF neurofeedback for chronic pain and complex stress.
